Land at Velana International, where the resort host meets you past baggage claim and walks you to the jetty. A forty-minute speedboat crosses the atoll to the island. Check in to a beach villa opening straight onto the sand, and spend the first evening doing nothing more than watching the light go off the lagoon.
Highlights
A morning dhoni takes you out to a house reef drop-off for snorkelling — parrotfish, reef sharks that want nothing to do with you, and the occasional hawksbill turtle. Afterwards the boat anchors at a sandbank, a bare crescent of sand in open water, where lunch is laid out under a shade sail. Masks, fins and a guide are included.

Your bags move to an overwater villa on the jetty while you have breakfast — glass floor panel, a sun deck and a ladder straight down into three metres of lagoon. Late afternoon you go out on a traditional dhoni for the sunset dolphin cruise; spinner dolphins run in pods of thirty or more off the atoll edge at that hour.

Deliberately empty. Swim off your own deck, take a kayak out over the reef, or do nothing at all. In the evening a private candlelit table is set on the beach away from the restaurant, with a four-course dinner and a member of staff who stays out of your way.

Breakfast, then the speedboat back across the atoll, timed to your flight. Resort check-out is at noon but the island keeps a day-use room and a shower for late departures. Coral, sand and turtle shell may not be taken out of the Maldives — it is a criminal offence, not a customs formality.

This package uses a speedboat, which runs at any hour and takes forty minutes. Seaplanes only fly in daylight, so a late-evening arrival costs you a night in Male. If you want a far-atoll resort we will quote the seaplane separately — it typically adds ₹22,000 to ₹30,000 per person.
For two nights, yes. For four it is usually not — an overwater villa has no garden, no direct beach and gets hot in the afternoon, and the novelty settles by the second morning. Splitting the stay is the reason this package exists.
Yes. Indian guests are a large share of Maldives arrivals and every buffet we book has a daily Indian counter with dal, rice, two sabzis and rotis. Jain food needs seven days' notice, which we will give at the time of booking.
May to July is the south-west monsoon — heavy squalls, poor underwater visibility and occasional cancelled excursions, which is why the May departure is the cheapest on this page. Late December to March is dry, calm and the most expensive.
